Arsenal are in the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer.
The 21-year-old is attracting interest from across Europe, with a £65m buyout clause in his contract set to come into effect this summer.
Interest is coming from the Premier League, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all interested in Sesko.
However, Athletic say that Arsenal are in a position to sign Sesko and that he is the favourite lately.
The Gunners are the top of the Premier League clubs interested in Sesko, and there is a clear clue for the striker in Arsenal’s starting XI.
The Slovenian joined Leipzig from RB Salzburg in 2019 and has progressed year after year in Germany.
The Bundesliga club are desperate to keep Sesko, especially since in the coming years his value will be much higher than his release clause.
Leipzig are in a position to offer Sesko a new contract that will significantly increase his salary.
But it remains to be seen whether the striker will intend to leave, and several clubs are expected to trigger his release clause.
Mikel Arteta signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea in the summer to play against the German in midfield.
However, his most productive position turned out to be forward, where the absence of Gabriel Jesús played a role.
