Arsenal-Liverpool LIVE!
An own goal from Jakub Kiwior and a late goal from Luis Diaz sealed Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup at the weekend, as the hosts’ dismal form carried over into the new year on Sunday. The Gunners have lost their last 3 games in all competitions.
Arsenal lost a lot in the first half and had to pay for it when Liverpool captain Trent Alexander-Arnold’s free-kick headed past Kiwior in the 80th minute. Diaz then secured position for eight-time winners Liverpool in the fourth-round draw. He hit the house in stoppage time.
Premier League leaders Liverpool had been in second place in the first half, and Arsenal failed to make the most of a number of early chances, with captain Martin Odegaard coming close as he hit the crossbar with a hard punch. However, Liverpool stepped up after the break and their army of 7,000 enthusiastic travellers were rewarded with two late goals.
