Arsenal manager Joe Montemurro has expressed his “disappointment and frustration” after being kicked out of the FA Cup semi-final through Manchester City manager.
The Gunners were outscored in the first half when they reached the break 2-1 with goals from Steph Houghton and Sam Mewis leading the way.
And while Montemurro’s team did everything they could to tie back in the last ones, it wasn’t enough, as they missed the FA Cup final for a moment in the consecutive season.
“Disappointment, frustration,” the 52-year-old told the club when asked how he felt after the game.
“We can’t let those groups take the lead like they did in the first part and from there we struggle to get back in the game.
“We just felt like they were swinging the ball easily and that we were going deeper and that we couldn’t go higher. They were putting us in spaces where they could hurt us.
“We weren’t smart with or without the ball in the first half and we had the chance to get back in the game at 1-1 to be honest. They gave us what we deserved in the first part. “
Arsenal will now regain the name of the Women’s Super League they lost to Chelsea last season.
The next step for the Gunners is a game opposed to Bristol City at Meadow Park on Sunday afternoon as they watch to build their brilliant start in the crusade that saw them win any of the league games, scoring 15 goals in the process.
