The Gunners’ patron intended to spend a well-deserved night until Bernd Leno gave a purpose to his belligerent Austrian parts in the 51st minute.
But Leno’s awkwardness forced Mikel Arteta to turn to Plan B and send the most sensible scorer Auba to save the day.
And the veteran striker did precisely what was needed, taking advantage of Hector Bellerin’s center in the 74th minute to secure the three points.
