Arsenal vs PSV player ratings: Reiss Nelson encouraged but Leandro Trossard’s dip in form continues

Eddie Nketiah scored as Arsenal drew against PSV Eindhoven.

The striker put the Gunners ahead with a fine goal just before half-time, but Yorbe Vertessen equalised after the break.

The game in Eindhoven was a dead rubber as both Arsenal and PSV had already booked a spot in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Arsenal will advance as the winner of Group B and face one of the runners-up of the round.

Simon Collings in Eindhoven to see Arsenal in action. . .

Aaron Ramsdale 6

He made his debut in the Champions League and has remained steady. He put the shaky performance on the line at Brentford last month.

Cedric 6

He made his first starting appearance for Arsenal in over a year. He was forged in the first half but was out of position for PSV Eindhoven’s equaliser.

Guillaume Saliba 7

He made a saving move early on, as PSV looked confident of scoring. He missed an interception for the tying game, but other than that, it was impressive.

Gabriel 6

He produced an important block in the early stages to save Arsenal from falling behind. Belatedly relieved when his botched interception went unpunished.

Jakub Kiwior 6

I had a tough night in front of the very lively Johan Bakayoko. I imagine he scored with a header, but Gabriel is offside and interferes with the play.

Mohamed Elnény 6

Solid performance. He hit the post with a clever effort from outside the box. He was arrested after an hour for what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Jorginho 7

Captain in the evening and looked at the base of the midfield. The speed of the game suited his taste of play.

Kai Havertz 6

He made great runs forward and held the ball well when Arsenal needed an opening. He just missed the last ball.

Reiss Nelson 7 | Star player

He looked great and scored the first goal combining with Nketiah, the Arsenal player that night.

Eddie Nketiah7

He opened the scoring with a very good finish just before the break. He worked the most sensitive part of the ball, but was sloppy on the property at times.

Léandro Trossard 5

I struggled to concede and had poor possession. Form has dropped recently after impressing last season.

Deployed in central defence, which shows how tense Arsenal are in defence.

Ben White (Cédric 62′) 6

At right-back and Arsenal pressed on that side.

He almost scored the winning goal when his free-kick headed in through Kiwior, but Gabriel was offside and interfered with play.

Emile Smith Rowe (Nelson 89′) N/A
