ARSENAL have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi at the end of the season.
The midfielder has been targeted by several major Premier League clubs in months.
But the Gunners won the race for his signature and will cancel his £51m clause, reports the Daily Mail.
Arsenal wanted to sign the Spaniard immediately but Real Sociedad refused to let him go before the end of the season.
Zubimendi was courted by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in the summer but did not want to leave.
Arsenal intended not to be disputed then, Mikel Arteta had sounded a resolution for his compatriot for 12 months.
Arteta signed Mikel Merino in the summer to add to his midfield options, with Jorginho and Thomas Partey out of contract in the summer.
Zubimendi played a role in Spain’s fortunes at Euro 2024 this summer and was involved in the final against England.
He has earned 15 international caps for his country and helped Real Sociedad qualify for the Champions League last season.

Arsenal are expected to recruit an attacker this month due to injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, but Arteta said the club would rush transfers.
