One of the most publicized moves on the day of the Premier League deadline has, of course, noticed that Arsenal land at Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid.
The midfielder had been closely related to a move to the Emirates in the summer.
However, on the last day of the market, no motions had been agreed, even reports began to spread suggesting that Partey was unlikely to move to the Emirates.
But as the final moments of the window unfolded, the news nevertheless came that the Gunners had reached an agreement for Ghana international.
Since then, Partey has taken over the Emirates, presenting both at home and in Europe.
The midfielder played a key role in the Gunners, who finished with their lousy away record against six when they beat Manchester United this month.
Now, with the last break for us, Partey has talked about his idols.
Arsenal, of course, have recruited countless more sensitive midfielders over the years, adding Patrick Vieira, Emmanuel Petit and Gilberto Silva.
However, it was a Chelsea legend that Partey named as his idol.
The player in question Michael Essien, who spent nine years running at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking of Essien, Partey explained:
“He’s a midfielder. Fight for each and every ball, it’s a wonderful legend. For me, he’s one of the most productive midfielders we’ve ever had in Africa.
“I think we’ve all noticed what he’s done in Chelsea, what he’s done for the Black Stars and for me he’s my idol. “
“I grew up watching Michael Essien, Muntari, the Ayew brothers; those are the other people that I appreciate and they have had a great effect on Ghanaians. I think this is my moment and I have to make sure I understand.
