Arsenal are keen to sign Dominik Szoboszlai but have some reservations about the talent of the Red Bull Salzburg midfielder in some areas, according to reports.
Mikel Arteta is looking for an artistic spark for the Gunners, who do not score in the open game in their last seven league hours.
The Spanish coach sought to hire Lyon’s game creator Houssem Aouar this summer, but Arsenal did not fit the Ligue 1 club’s 55 million pound rating of its valuable asset.
Szoboszlai, who has been on fire with Salzburg this season, is an option for the Gunners.
The Hungarian foreigner already has five goals and nine assists for the Austrian aspect this fourth and his contract includes a clause of just 23 million pounds.
But according to The Athletic, Arsenal are involved in their ball retention and defensive ability.
The inhabitants of north London would also wonder if they target the 20-year-old or a more experienced player to fill his artistic void.
Szoboszlai may turn out to be a flexible option for Arteta given her ability to play as the ultimate offensive game shipowner in a three-man midfield and left wing.
In statements to Sky Sport Austria this week, Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund admitted that he expects Szoboszlai to join a large club soon and has subsidized him to thrive at the highest level.
“Of course he would like to have the player at the club as long as possible,” he told Sky Sport Austria. “On the other hand, it is also healthy to take the next step at the right time.
“Let’s see what happens in the winter, but there’s a good chance he’ll move to a big club. It’s definitely a next step in progression so you can exploit that perspective and functionality in each and every game. “
“I am convinced that he may be one of the most attractive midfielders in Europe in the coming years. “
