COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Artur of Lima Junior and Pedro Santos scored and the Columbus Crew beat New York City FC 3-1 on Sunday night, scoring a four-game winning streak.
Artur opened the scoring in the 26th minute for the purpose of his MLS career and the first in the regular season. Keaton Parks of New York deviated an access pass from Emmanuel Boateng and Artur won a loose ball and rolled a right foot between Sean Johnson’s legs.
Santos scored to give Columbus (10-4-4) a 2-0 lead in the 50th minute, which has scored six goals in the last few games this season.
NYCFC’s Valenton Castellanos responded purposefully in the minute, and Gyasi Zardes parried the rebound from his own saved penalty to cap the score in the third minute of injury time.
New York City (8-8-3) has not won, with two losses, in its three games.
