Inter Milan has hired the midfielder Arturo Vidal del Barcelona for more than 900,000 euros.
The Chilean’s move to San Siro sees him meet Inter coach Antonio Conte, with whom he won 3 Serie A titles during his time at Juventus.
The 33-year-old Vidal is the last veteran to sign this signing window for Inter, following the arrivals of Alexis Sanchez, 31, from Manchester United, and Aleksandar Kolarov, 34, from Rome.
Conte hopes the joy of the trio will allow Inter to win trophies this season after completing his moment in Serie A and europa League in the past campaign.
Vidal’s departure from Barcelona comes when the Spaniard seeks to rebuild after his first season without trophies in 12 years.
Arthur, Ivan Rakitic and Arda Turan have already left Camp Nou, while young Carles Pérez and Marc Cucurella have been sold and Luis Suarez can also sign for Atletico Madrid.
However, Captain Lionel Messi remains in Barcelona after cancelling his resolve to leave, and this Sunday paid tribute to Vidal on Instagram.
He said: “I only knew you to play against you and I think you were a phenomenon, but after having had the chance to meet you personally, you surprised me even more.
“We’ve shared a lot in recent years and you’ve had a massive effect on the locker room and we’re going to miss a lot. I wish you good luck at your new club and I. I’m sure our paths will cross again. “
A on the Barcelona website said: “FC Barcelona wants to publicly express its appreciation to Arturo Vidal for his commitment and determination and wishes him the most productive for the future. “
