Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly provide Randal Kolo Muani in a transfer deal for hot Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran in January.
Duran, 21, has been in superb form for Villa this season and has replaced Ollie Watkins in Unai Emery’s starting XI – something that seemed impossible last season.
This comes after West Ham almost closed a deal for the Colombian foreigner last summer and the Hammers will certainly not decide to spend money on him.
According to the Spanish media Fichajes, PSG “wants to close paths” with Muani and has “opened conversations” with Villa about a possible transfer for Durán.
It’s claimed that PSG are willing to offer Muani plus a ‘substantial sum of money’ for Duran in January as Luis Enrique looks to add another striker to his squad.
Villa, for their part, “are not willing to let Durán go easily” and that is not surprising considering how he has been with the Midlands team this season.
Emery “will not settle for an undeniable change for Muani” and negotiations could simply involve “an additional payment from PSG, which could tip the scales in his favour, even if a final agreement has not yet been reached”.
Sources have told TEAMtalk that it would take a massive payout to get Duran away from Villa in January, as he is considered an important player at the club.
Our moving correspondent Fraser Fletcher revealed in October that Villa valued Duran at more than £80million and wouldn’t sell him for less. This rating might have increased since then due to his dazzling form.
However, the news related to Muani is interesting, as it is imaginable that the French foreigner will head to the Premier League this winter.
We understand that Arsenal are keeping tabs on his situation as Mikel Arteta looks to bring in a new striker to compete with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
PSG are in a position to sell the striker next month as Enrique considers him surplus. Muani has started just two league games so far this season and is contemplating his options.
Sources claim that an offer of £50m may be enough to sign Muani next month, which may be noted as a reduced price given that he joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt for £76m in 2023.
Arsenal may just jump at the possibility to signal Muani and are tracking his scenario heavily forward of the January window.
