Aston Villa has been connected to Swedish number one Robin Olsen, a well-known goalkeeper of the club’s new sporting director, Johan Lange.
The Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport explained today how the 30-year-old can be just a purpose for the Aston Villa” after Lange’s announcement at Villa Park this week.
Olsen spent two seasons in Copenhagen along Lange before being sold to Rome for 8.1 million pounds, and the Dane benefited from about 7.5 million pounds.

The Swede signed a five-year contract with the Italian giants in 2018 but, last season, he relented to Cagliari after failing to push the club’s No. 1, Pau Lopez.
Olsen has played 17 times for Cagliari and has kept 4 blank sheets with the goalkeeper in position to be in action against AC Milan in Serie A even though it all comes to an end.
As for the scene of Villa’s goalkeepers, Dean Smith said goodbye to Pepe Reina after the conclusion of his loan contract. Villa No. 1 Tom Heaton is expected to return to education in 3 weeks after an eight-month absence with knee ligament damage.
The club’s other goalkeepers are Orjan Nyland, Jed Steer, the forgotten Lovre Kalinic and the under-23 striker Viljami Sinisalo. As for Nyland, his contract expires next June and the Norwegian will need guarantees for the duration of the match. Steer, meanwhile, has just returned from a torn Achilles with his equally dubious future, while Kalinic moves.
Over the next few days, Smith, Lange and general manager Christian Purslow will provide key play priorities and a long-term goalkeeper can be high on Villa’s wish list.
As for today’s final link with Olsen, the Swede, who played in the 2018 World Cup, surpasses Rome’s wishes and would be available. It is valued at around 6 million pounds on the German statistics page Transfermarkt.
