Former England goalkeeper Emile Heskey believes Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish would not have been able to show all his prospects if he had joined Manchester United, the great club he connected to this summer.
In an exclusive interview with HITC, Heskey spoke about Grealish’s resolve to remain in Villa and how he would be compatible with the United team. According to English legend, the 25-year-old could have risked his long career if he had. selected to point out with the Red Devils, given the club’s movement strategies.
“[Manchester United] continues to buy midfielders,” Heskey said. ” They’re still filling this midfield with the same players. Are you [Grealish] passing by to be a number in that midfield?Or move on to a club where you can see the progression?”
In September, Grealish signed a new five-year contract with his children’s club Villa, but before the deal, the midfielder was a target for United, and interest nevertheless faded after United’s resolve to sign Donny Van de Beek of Ajax.
For Heskey, Grealish does not want to set up a world-class team like United to thrive his career abroad despite the recent resolve through England coach Gareth Southgate to exclude him from Belgium and Denmark.
“I don’t think he [Grealish] wants to take a step to expand abroad,” said the 42-year-old technician. “Gareth [Southgate] (England coach) proves that as long as you have [that skill] in your club, then he with that. “
“It’s more for Jack himself to demonstrate whether he can do it at the highest level,” he continued. “Can you do that with the most productive players? I don’t think this is a case where he has to move to cement his position. “in England, I think Gareth understands. “

Villa CEO Christian Purslow expressed gratitude for Grealishe’s loyalty to the club and recognized the good fortune of the team’s captain abroad.
“Jack is an emblem of our owner’s vision for Aston Villa,” Purslow said. “He joined our club as a six-year-old local boy and has become one of the most productive players in the country and, nevertheless, has become a full-fully-rated foreigner in England last week. “
