Havertz had Chelsea in charge, but Jannik Vestergaard’s purpose in extra time sealed an overdue tie for the Saints, the time they tied 3-3 in three Premier League games for Frank Lampard’s men.
Havertz blamed the Saints’ first goal, admitting that he had lost ownership of Danny Ings’ intelligent ending “changed the game. “
“We are very much with the result,” Havertz told Chelsea’s official website.
“We had 42 minutes in the first half, but then I made a mistake and fit a goal, which replaced the game a little bit.
“We took it to 3-2, then we had to take the result and win at home, we didn’t.
“Now we have to stick together and hope to do better next time.
“We have to assume duty; we have 11 players on the field and everyone has to work hard to concede goals like this. “
“It is not a user who makes the mistake, so we have to take a look at our mistakes and check to solve the problems.
“It would have been wonderful if my purpose were the winner. Of course, I am satisfied with that but also very frustrated with the result.
“We had to take those three themes home and we can do it, so it was a bad day for us. “
