Atalanta’s date for Retegui’s medical

Atalanta have already scheduled a medical for Italy’s Mateo Retegui, who will arrive in Bergamo on Thursday morning after agreeing to his permanent transfer from Genoa.  

Retegui must pass his medical test with Atalanta in Bergamo on Thursday, August 8.  

Atalanta will pay 22 million euros plus a bonus of 3 million euros for the foreigner Azzurri, who charged Genoa 15 million euros when he arrived in Serie A from Argentine side Tigre last summer.  

The 25-year-old urgently replaces compatriot Gianluca Scamacca, who will miss more of the 2024-25 Serie A season after tearing his cruciate ligament (ACL) in a pre-season friendly against Parma on Sunday night. .  

La Dea is scheduled to play a pre-season friendly this summer against Bundesliga newcomer St. John’s. Pauli, which will be held on Friday in Hamburg.  

Gian Piero Gasperini and his team will then depart for Warsaw, where they will face Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday 14 August.  

They will then start their season in Serie A in Lecce.
