As a component of our 70th anniversary celebrations, we are reintroducing the national qualification of Autosport drivers over the years, examining the maximum number of successful club runners by 2020.
Since the early 1980s, Autosport has produced paintings of the winners of the “Golden Helmet” of a racing season in the UK and Ireland.This year, we will inform you and provide you with weekly updates.
The last time we produced the rankings, in 2014, Legends driver Dean Brace emerged victorious after triumphing 23 times in the season.Other winners of the 2010s come with current Honda British Touring Car Dan Cammish (dominant in British Formula Ford in 2013) and Mazda MX-5 master Tom Roche.
The precept is simple: a victory is a victory. Without algorithm Don’t do anything stupid.A victory in a Ford Fiesta race at Mondello Park equals Lewis Hamilton’s good fortune at the British Grand Prix.
Class wins also count in the same way, a full win takes precedence in the event of a tie, and there will have to be a minimum of six starters in an elegance for that victory to be counted.
We also exclude elegant structures based on the ability to drive or delight in degrees (see explanatory notes below the table).
On the occasion of a draw, the average length of the grid for each win by a driver will be the order: greater to win races in a 30-car championship than in a 12-car championship.
After two months of arrears in the 2020 coronavirus season, Junior Saloons ace Lewis Saunders led the way with 10 wins. The series has already been controlled to organize five occasions as a component of a condensed calendar and the 2018 champion has been in imperative shape., remaining undefeated.
But stepping on Saunders’ heels is Castle Combe’s ultimate driving force in terms of racing victories: Gary Prebble, who has won nine races so far in the Hot Hatch and Saloon competitions at Castle Combe Racing Club to make him the favorite.
Other leading contenders come with Cam Jackson, the two-time Formula Ford champion who made a methodical deyet for the historic racing season by triumphing only in this series, but also in Classic FF1600 and Formula Junior, as well as Lucky Khera, a winner in either BMW and Ferrari.
All motor racing in the UK and Ireland are included in qualifying/repechage, comfort and handicap racing.Races are not allowed in other countries.
Class wins are counted only when there are at least six starters in the class. Only categories divided according to the characteristics of the car are included. Classes divided according to the characteristics of driving force such as skill, professional status, age, delight (e.g. novice or professional -Categories am) are not included.
In the event of a tie, overall victories prevail. Where there is still a draw, the length of the grid for a pilot’s victories determines the order.
