Barcelona and Lionel Messi paid tribute to Diego Maradona with a minute’s silence in their pre-session apartment on Friday.
The club showed the players going out to exercise before collecting in a circle the Argentine legend who passed away at age 60 on Wednesday at his home in Buenos Aires.

The 33-year-old had already hung his own triiete to Maradona on social media and wrote: “A very unhappy day for all Argentines and football. He leaves us but he doesn’t leave, because Diego is eternal. moments with him and then I sought to take this opportunity to send my deepest condolences to his entire circle of family and friends.
The club will observe a minute of silence at the Camp Nou on Sunday before the start of the match against Osasuna. La Liga announced this Thursday that all the matches of the first two Spanish divisions would pay tribute to Maradona, as reported by Football Spain .

Barcelona also paid tribute to Maradona in several respects. The Argentine spent two years at Camp Nou before signing for Serie A napoli in 1984. The flags flew at half-mast around the club this week and Barca posted a message of thanks on social media, as reported on the club’s website.

Maradona buried in a personal rite in Buenos Aires last Thursday, had flocked to say goodbye and pay tribute to the World Cup winner whose coffin was displayed to the public at the presidential palace, BBC News reported.
Barcelona will now concentrate on La Liga and Sunday’s stopover in Osasuna. The match is expected to see Messi return to the starting XI after lounging mid-week against Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League.
