According to the Spanish publication Marca, Barcelona’s hopes of signing Lautaro Martínez before the deadline for the move are over after the Catalan team submitted an unacceptable offer for the star of Inter Milan.
Marca reports that Barcelona has been preparing an offer for the striker for some time, releasing a budget thanks to the departures of Nelson Semedo, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal and his predecessor Luis Suárez.
It is alleged that Barcelona presented a shocking down payment of only 15 million euros to the agents of Lautaro, Beto Yaque and Roly Zárate, Barcelona then sought to talk about the incorporations at a later stage.
To contextualize how disrespectful the be offer was, Marca reported last week that Inter strongly adhered to the 23-year-old’s 90 million euro valuation.
Marca says lautaro’s agents now return to Milan with one thing in mind, a new contract, and even that the Argentine expected a move to be sealed after accepting non-public conditions.
Marca reports that Lautaro’s agents were absolutely baffled by Barcelona’s behaviour, they do not perceive why such a derogatory offer was made after the club called super agent Jorge Mendes to release a budget with Semedo’s departures.
It is also unclear whether Barcelona will settle for an agreement to signal a new striker with the Memphis Depay connected, with the unrest still at the Camp Nou.
We can only believe how Lionel Messi will feel if a quality center forward doesn’t come in after the resolve to force his close friend into Suarez with no respect.
Martínez reached Inter in the summer of 2018 from racing’s years-long club, the ace controlled to score 30 goals and provide 8 assists in 84 outings for the Serie A team.
Lautaro’s skills may be ideal for Barcelona, the striker proved to be tough in front of goal, and more importantly, he is a team player, as he drove magnificently alongside Romelu Lukaku.
