Barcelona have revealed that Jordi Alba suffered a hamr tendon injury in the 1–1 draw with Sevilla, it is not known how long the defender will be down.
The left-back, who all three games with new coach Ronald Koeman, had to be replaced in the 75th minute of the LaLiga match at Camp Nou on Sunday.
After Monday’s training, Barca showed the challenge for Alba, who “will not live up to the variety until otherwise indicated”.
The 31-year-old will be helped during the foreign break in his recovery, as he has played for Spain since the 2–1 win over Romania in September 2019.
“The tests carried out this morning showed that Jordi Alba had a muscle in the ham of the right leg, ” reads in a statement from Barcelona.
“You cannot have it as a variety unless otherwise indicated, and the evolution of the injury will determine the player’s availability. “
Alba replaced via Sergino Dest, who has become the first American to play an official pass for Barcelona after arriving from Ajax.
The teenager was unable to help his new team win the final, the result, and the absence of enthusiasts in the outstanding stadium, may not ruin the opportunity.
“This is the level of my dreams, that of Europe,” Dest told the club’s website.
“Unfortunately, because of the coronavirus, there is no audience. But it’s very nice. “
