Barcelona announced Saturday that defenseman Moussa Wague will be lost in the coming months after undergoing a knee operation.
The right-back ceded to PAOK at the start of the season and was injured in action for the Greek team. Wague desperately seeks to save him a purpose when he violently collided with the pole and stretched out.
Since then, Wague has returned to Barcelona and underwent surgery. The club made an inventory of Senegal on its official website.
FC Barcelona player Moussa Wagué, loaned this season to PAOK Salonique, underwent a successful operation on Saturday morning to repair and rebuild the patellar ligament of the right knee.
The operation was carried out through Dr. Ramon Cugat under the supervision of FC Barcelona’s medical team. The Senegalese footballer also ruptured his posterior cruciate ligament and underwent conservative treatment. It will be inactive for about nine months and will remain in Barcelona for the recovery period.
The 22-year-old will now miss the rest of the 2020-21 crusade and is expected to miss the start of the next season.

The severity of Wague’s injury has even led him to assume that the right-back’s career could be threatened despite his young age.

Wague joined Barcelona on a five-year contract with Belgian club KAS Eupen in 2018. The right-back first teamed up with Barcelona B, but then made six first-team appearances.
Barcelona even gave Wague a first-team number at the start of the 2019-20 campaign.

Wague’s lack of playing time caused the defender to be loaned to French club Nice last season, however, the Ligue 1 season was tricked due to Covid-19, meaning Wague had no chance of impressing with the French team.
Another loan granted in September to PAOK, which gave Wague another chance to continue its progression this time in the Greek elite. Wague had played 12 matches in all competitions for PAOK before injuring himself in a league clash with Aris Salonique.
Wague is already back in Barcelona and will begin his recovery with the Catalan giants. The club sent a message to the young man after confirming the seriousness of his injury.

The right-back is the only player from Barcelona lately sidelined. Ansu Fati underwent a knee operation in November, while central defender Gerard Piqué also suffers from a serious knee problem.
Fati is expected to return in March 2021, there is still no fixed date for Piqué’s return. The central said it “feels good, strong,” but is still waiting “next steps to know if the knee is solid. “or not, “according to Mundo Deportivo.
Sergi Roberto is the only other out-of-action Barca player lately for a significant time. The flexible star suffered a thigh challenge against Atletico Madrid and must return until the end of January.
