Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele for a 2019 racist video

Barcelona stars Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele have all apologised after videos surfaced of the two Asians mocking a 2019 pre-season trip to Japan.

As noted in The Athletic, a video took a stand when hotel staff members attempted to fix a TV while Dembélé was heard asking his “backward language” and asking, “Are you technologically complex in your country or not?”. A video of a moment showed Griezmann shouting with an accessory the words “Ching chong”.

“I’ve been committed to the whole bureaucracy of discrimination,” Griezguyn said on Twitter (translated through The Athletic). “For a few days now, other people have been trying to impersonate me as a guy I’m not. the accusations oppose me and I regret if I anger my Japanese friends. “

Dembele also issued a message related to the video:

A punishment for any of the players has not yet been announced, according to ESPN.

Griezmann and Dembélé are teammates in Barcelona and in the French national team. The forwards were on the Euro 2020 roster for France, with the favourites suffering a disappointing early start in the last eight.
