Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso: Victor Boniface is out to stay

Although Boniface started the current season well, with six goals and one assist in his first 10 Bundesliga outings, a hamstring injury and ensuing fitness issues kept him out of action through to mid-January. By this time, a deal had been negotiated for a winter move to Saudi club Al-Nassr – the home of Cristiano Ronaldo – and Boniface was all set to leave.

However, it is expected that a due replacement of the Saudi team plans means that Boniface remains in Leverkusen, and fights with Patrik Schick in Central Center for a position in the initial XI of Alonso.
