Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has warned Chelsea that it will not reap the benefits of a Kai Hevertz drawdown, despite the widespread monetary disorders caused by the Covid-19 epidemic.
Havertz, just 21, has been one of the most productive stars in the Bundesliga of late.
The flexible attacking midfielder has enjoyed a very good 2018/19 season, in which he scored 17 goals and 4 assists in 34 Bundesliga games.
And despite some kind of drop in form earlier in the season, the German international, which had been in the past compared to Mesut Ozil and Michael Ballack, still controlled to score 12 and provide six assists in 30 league appearances.
Such impressive achievements, of course, have led the midfielder to attract the interest of some big clubs.
However, the team that for a long time seemed in a position to reach an agreement for Havertz is Chelsea, the premier league giant.
Links between the Blues and Leverkusen’s crown jewel began to emerge in June, and trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano reported this week that Havertz wanted to sign for Chelsea.

The same report stated that the Blues would like to settle for an amount of around 80 million euros.
However, if Rudi Voller’s aforementioned comments are to be believed, Chelsea would possibly have to pay a bit more.
In an interview with Italian store Gazzetta dello Sport, Bayer’s sporting director asked about the fact that the German team had already agreed to sell Havertz.
And, after ensuring that this is not the case, Voller willing to raise that there would be no “reduction of Covid” for Chelsea:
“No, but his ability means he is on the list of all the most productive clubs.
“We know the interest of some clubs, especially Chelsea, but for us the scenario is quite simple; they have a two-year contract, if someone needs it on our terms, well, otherwise they stay here a bit. ” another year and we are happy.
“It probably wouldn’t be easy, but for an artist like him there’s no Covid reduction. “
