Joshua Kimmich revealed that Bayern Munich had had a “sense of invincibility” in Sunday’s Champions League final in Lisbon.
Bayern have become the first team to win the festival with a 100 percent record after claiming an eleventh consecutive victory against Paris Saint-Germain at Benfica’s Estadio da Luz.
Hansi Flick’s team had scored a total of 18 goals in knockout victories over Chelsea, Barcelona and Lyon, but Ligue 1 champions provided a much tougher event in the spotlight.
The PSG wasted several openings to blame in the first forty-five minutes, while Robert Lewandowski approached Bayern by hitting the wood with a poacher shot after expertly spinning into the area.
Thomas Tuchel’s men continued to check to absorb tension and hit their war parts at half-time early in the period of the moment, but the Bundesliga team, despite everything controlled to make their dominance count the property just before the hour.
Kimmich helped Kingsley Coman beat Keylor Navas on the PSG with a well-placed header, prompting wild scenes between players and Bayern staff.
The match ended 1-0, with Flick delivering a sixth European Cup at the Allianz Arena to climb to the name of the Bundesliga and the DFB Cup that his team had already won in 2019-20.
Kimmich stated that Bayern did not oppose PSG more productively, but also admitted that the team is still sure to succeed after their unprecedented career until the final.
“This is the most important day of my career.I can’t describe what it means to be on the field with a team like this,” the German midfielder told the club’s official website.
“Winning such a name with brothers is what you can achieve.Hansi Flick gave us a very intelligent feeling in the camp and gave us a lot of confidence from the beginning.
“Every victory gave us more and more confidence. When you make mistakes, others make up for them.
“We weren’t error-free (in the final) either, but we had a slight sense of invincibility.I think we deserved to win this competition.
Bayern striker Thomas Muller added that he had twice won the Champions League: “It’s unbelievable. We took a trip, got away from what we felt in the fall, and then we made a sensational race.”
“We also deserved that feeling. We have team spirit, the boys are in a position to paint hard.We also took luck and had Manuel Neuer among the sticks.”
“It wasn’t our game, but we held on and now we’re on top.”
