Bayern Munich’s squad plans for the 2024/25 season are already underway. The Rekordmeister have already signed Japanese defender Hiroki Ito (23) from Stuttgart and are lately thinking about signing Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen.

But according to Kicker, the Bundesliga is defending a payment of around €40m for Tah, who is entering the final year of his contract, an amount Bayern Munich considers unrealistic for a player whose contract expires in 2025.

And with the signing of Ito from Stuttgart, Bayern Munich have been feeling comfortable in their defensive challenge lately with Matthijs de Ligt, Dayot Upamecano, Kim Min-jae and Eric Dier at the club.

On June 10 it was reported that Bayern Munich had reached an overall agreement with Tah, but that was before Ito signed. The 28-year-old, who has recently represented Germany at Euro 2024, also informed the club’s administrators that he needs to register with Vincent Kompany’s team.

Although Bayern Munich’s interest in Tah is still there, he is willing to pay the 40 million euros that Bayer Leverkusen wants.
