But environmental officials are advising others to stay out of the water in some resorts in north Somerset, because the water quality is not smart enough.

The water on Weston’s main beach is already poor, and others are be be asked not to bathe in the sea.
Clevedon’s water has been classified as smart, while Sand Bay Beach and Burnham-on-Sea Pier are sufficient, meaning it meets strict EU standards.
However, Uphill Slipway called it mediocre.
The water quality of this bathing water tends to vary due to its proximity to the Axe River.
The rise occurs across the river and the quality can be worsened due to a high seasonality of pollutant levels, especially after periods of heavy rains that affect the quality of the river and bathing waters.

Current water quality judgments are based on samples taken last year.
A test-based update will be released later this year during the summer season.
