Chilwell, who made his Leicester debut at the age of 18 in October 2015 before making 123 Premier League appearances, said: “I’m very happy to sign for Chelsea at this exciting time for the club.”
“I look forward to being part of this young, dynamic team led by Frank Lampard as we defy honors next season.
“I can’t wait to get there and I hope we don’t stop at the game in front of Chelsea enthusiasts at Stamford Bridge.”
Chilwell has joined his 11 international matches against England in next month’s Nations matches against Denmark and Iceland, but an injury prevented him from taking part in Gareth Southgate’s team.
However, his performances for the club and the country have elevated him to the first pick rank of Chelsea coach Lampard, as the new recruit of the left-back.
Absolutely humming to point to @ChelseaFC. Really exciting time for the club, with such a smart team! I can’t wait to meet all the boys and everyone in the building. Special thanks to the manager for accepting as true you have shown me. A dream come true. Come on, blues? pic.twitter.com/xpfIklsgzn

Chelsea manager Marina Granovskaia said on the club’s website: “We are very much about finishing our third addition to our exciting team for next season.
“Ben brings a lot of high-level gaming joy in the Premier League, Champions League and foreign level, despite his young age.
“We are confident that Ben will adapt very temporarily to become a Chelsea player and, with the 2020/21 adjustment schedule busy, is an addition to the team needed to challenge the honours.
Chelsea have been heavily connected with a blow to veteran Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, while Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz is still in line to move to Stamford Bridge.
The club also implemented the rule on a number of goalkeeper options, with Andre Onana of Ajax and Nick Pope of Burnley mentioned.
English West Ham star Declan Rice is one of Chelsea’s top goals and finishers on the Blues’ radar.
The firmness of owner Roman Abramovich has placed Chelsea in a solid position in the moving market, and the club is able to compensate for the effects of coronavirus more skillfully than many other Premier League teams.
