Big Ten publishes calendar in 8 games of 2020: key matches, rivalries

Despite rumors that Big Ten would launch the third iteration of its 2020 calendar next week, the convention celebrated and announced the list of 8 games for its 14 members on Saturday morning.

Each will face their six opponents within the division, with two field games across, one at home and one on the road.

Here are some of the games to check out, week after week:

Week 1, October 24

Nebraska Cornhuskers in Ohio State Buckeyes: Nebraska has lost consecutive games to OSU since 2012.

Michigan Wolverines at the Minnesota Golden Gophers: Play for the little brown pot.

Week 2, October 31

Michigan State Spartans in Michigan: The Paul Bunyan Trophy is at stake on Halloween.

Ohio State to Penn State Nittany Lions: Ohio State is his fourth straight win over Penn State, which would equat to the longest winning streak of the rivalry.

Wisconsin Badgers nebraska: The Cornhuskers are 0-12 in their 12 games between Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Week 3, November 7

Michigan State to The Iowa Hawkeyes: A rematch of the 2015 Conference name game.

Week 4, November 14

Iowa, Minnesota: Play for the Floyd of Rosedale Trophy.

Nebraska at Penn State: The Nittany Lions head west for their crossover game.

Week 5, November 21

Iowa to Penn State: Penn State has six in a row since 2011.

Week 6, November 28

Iowa vs Nebraska: an emerging rivalry in the Western Division.

Minnesota to Wisconsin: Paul Bunyan’s axe at stake.

Penn State, Michigan: The Wolverines and Nittany Lions have traded victories in more than four seasons, with Penn State striker From Michigan in 2019.

Week 7, December 5

Iowa to Illinois fighting Illini: Iowa hasn’t been to Illinois since the convention realignment.

Ohio State to Michigan State: The Spartans haven’t won since 2015 and the Buckeyes beat them 108-19 in the last three games.
