Birmingham enthusiasts are amazed when plans for the new 62,000-capacity “spaceship” stadium are revealed.

Birmingham City fans were left stunned after the club revealed plans for a new ‘spaceship’ stadium.

The Blues’ owning group, Knighthead, has announced that it has acquired 48 acres within a mile of St Andrews, bringing its total land ownership to more than 60 acres.

As well as building a new stadium, the club plans to build amenities for all Birmingham City teams, as well as extensive advertising and network services for the surrounding network.

The aim is to build the new stadium and surrounding facilities in time for the 2029/30 campaign, with the total task costing between £2 billion and £3 billion.

But when Knighthead co-CEO and president Tom Wagner unveiled the new design, enthusiasts were stunned.

“We have to go through the planning, but I wanted to give you an idea of what we’re up to,” he began.

After the design is revealed, the members can be heard gasping and clapping in admiration.

Wagner later added, “I don’t know if we’re going through the appearance of a spaceship, but I think this gives you an intelligent idea of our intention.

“Perhaps the greatest facet is this massive dance where other people enter, because not everyone is going to be watching the game in the stadium because, obviously, the 62,000 seats are sold out,” he joked. “It’s not a problem. “

“But there’s a lot of activity in the offices and all of that (naming the offices) will be built with the tenant in mind; We have already received incoming calls from other people to collaborate with us on this.

I’m very excited that in 2029/2030 @Birmingham City FC will have a new home with global #football elegance within a quarter mile of our existing club. Stadium of global elegance ? more than 60,000 people can perform #NFL concerts and games. It will be funded through Americans and consumers to the tune of around £2,000,000,000 – £3,000,000,000 It will be emotional to leave St Andrews, but it will be for growth. Like the Vancouver stadium, we can divide the upper level until we can fill it, this is very ambitious and for the long term of football clubs. #Redevelopment and regeneration commission for the city of #Birmingham its #bcfc destination is no longer a dream. Having #tombrady on the board is super special, many goalkeepers at our club have overlooked us. It’s quite #mental but also incredibly exciting. Now, the truth is that some Blues fans may not be able to enjoy a live home game because they will no longer be alive. I have a 50% hope that my parents will get the same ratio that a parent can attend a game day at the new stadium. Same for me and my fitness issues, I’m not guaranteed this will end, however I have a wait of at least another 20 years, just a guess. Either way, it will be Birmingham City who enter the modern era. “We need anything that suits the grid and it’s critical that it doesn’t look like a blight on the Birmingham skyline and that it suits the context of the city and, more importantly, the neighbourhood.

“There’s a lot to do here, but it’s all in line with our broader goals. “
