Papu Gómez will leave Atalanta in January, according to Fabrizio Romano, who could put Premier League champion Liverpool on alert.
As Romano reports, Gomez had an argument at half-time with his coach and will leave the club accordingly. Although he is on the wrong path of 30 years, it is hard to believe that there will be a shortage of suitors given his performances in the afterlife of a few seasons.
Tuttosport (via Football Italia) reported in the past that Liverpool need to point to Gomez, with Jurgen Klopp a big fan. It remains to be noted whether they would still be interested in following Diogo Jota’s methodical rise, but an opportunity for his attacking characteristics. it’s not something they regularly neglect.
With Gomez over the age of 30 and now embarrassed with his coach, it is believable that Liverpool, or any other interested party, will simply point him out cheaply. Given the same old difficulty of doing business in January, a kick from Klopp and Liverpool can be valuable.
