PARIS (AP) – Nantes drew 0-0 in Bordeaux 10 in the first match of the French league season on Friday.
Nantes was unable to capitalize after Bordeaux midfielder Mehdi Zerkane was sent off in the 20th minute for a foul on midfield Nicolas Pallois. Bordeaux headquarters Laurent Koscielny helped defend the house to hold on.
These two groups did not intend to open the campaign, but did so because the adjustment of Marseille as opposed to Saint-Etienne was postponed after 3 other positive coronavirus tests in Marseille.
It is the first league game played in France since 8 March, after which last season’s remaining matches were postponed and then cancelled due to the pandemic.
In Saturday’s matches, Rennes is in Lille, the third and fourth that they finished last season, and Dijon faces Angers.
Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon are betting this weekend, leaving them in Champions League matches this week.
PSG face Bayern Munich in the final on Sunday, while Lyon lost 3-0 in the semi-final to Bayern on Wednesday.
