Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic has ruled out the hypothesis linking Gio Reyna with Nottingham Forest.

Reports in recent days have claimed that Forest are signing the US foreigner before the move window closes. Such a hypothesis has claimed that Forest are close to reaching an agreement to bring Reyna to the City Ground on loan for the rest of the season.

Ligue 1 Marseille and Spanish club Sevilla are also credited with interest in signing Reyna before the deadline. The 21-year-old has only made 11 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund this season and is yet to score a goal in his 14 appearances in all competitions.

Reyna’s long career has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, and Terzic has now spoken out about the player. Reyna came off the bench in Dortmund’s 3-1 win over VfL Bochum on Sunday, replacing Youssoufa Moukoko in the 66th minute.

After the game, Terzic asked about Reyna’s long career with the Bundesliga club. The Dortmund coach insisted he did not know Reyna would likely leave before the deadline and believed the midfielder would remain at the club after the window closed.

“I hope he will be available on Friday,” Terzic told Sport Bild. “I didn’t hear anything else. Gio has a contract, Gio is our player and he did well when he arrived today.

Dortmund face Heidenheim in the Bundesliga on Friday, where Terzic will hope to have Reyna part of his squad. Forest are due to take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Tuesday evening before travelling to face Bournemouth on Sunday in the club’s first game after the transfer window closes.
