Borussia Dortmund ‘s sporting director Sebastien Kehl claims Jadon Sancho is “more mature” and – despite criticism of his time keeping – has been deemed “over-punctual”.

The winger has finally managed to end his difficult spell at Manchester United, which left him out of the first team after publicly criticising manager Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman spoke of the desire to move up the bar in Manchester, with Sancho well singled out for arriving late.

The England international failed to justify his £73million fee while at Old Trafford despite being a roaring success during his time playing in the Bundesliga. Sancho is now back at Dortmund and Kehl has heaped praise on their loan signing.

He told Sky Germany : “I experience Jadon as changed, I experience him as more mature in his personality. He knows that he is challenged and that he is coming to Borussia Dortmund in a different role. He’s always on time – even over-punctual. He seems incredibly motivated and committed and to see such a player on the pitch is fantastic. I think we’ll have fewer problems than in the past.”

Sancho’s time in the Premier League was, according to Ten Hag, marred by disorder. He didn’t keep his promises on the field and his outburst on social media, which saw him marginalized by his coach, was the last straw. after a succession of disorders his command.

“Then after he signed, a year before [I was here], there were upheavals,” Ten Hag said. “We’ve had upheavals in the process, and you can see that his time at Manchester United so far hasn’t been a success. He will now return to Borussia Dortmund, so I wish him the best of luck.

“I hope, we all hope he is doing well there, he will be successful. Again, we will see what is going to happen. We have said that before (that things would be different if he had apologised). And I don’t want every time to return to the point. He knows what he should do and we have made that clear.”

Ralf Rangnick, United’s caretaker manager two seasons ago, inherited Sancho just months after his move to Manchester and is among those who will protect the winger. He said: “In the six months I’ve been with him, there hasn’t been a single field problem. On the contrary. He’s a quiet, charming guy. “
