Borussia Dortmund boss Sebastian Kehl explained why it would be difficult to reach an agreement with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has admitted that Jadon Sancho is unlikely to sign for the club on a permanent basis, even if Manchester United get rid of the striker this summer.
The 23-year-old, who spent four years at Dortmund after joining from Manchester City in 2017, returned to the club last month on loan until the end of the season. His return to the Bundesliga from Old Trafford came after a public feud with manager Erik ten Hag in September.
Since returning to Signal Iduna Park, Sancho has two assists in 3 Bundesliga games and helped Edin Terzic’s team start their quest to qualify for the Champions League with 3 consecutive league wins.

However, Kehl has all-but-ruled out Sancho making his return to Dortmund permanent, insisting that the price United would demand for the forward would make any future deal “very, very difficult.”
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Kehl said: “Unfortunately for both players [Ian Maatsen and Jadon Sancho], neither option was really realistic. If you know what we got for Jadon Sancho two and a half years ago, then you know also that it might now be very, very difficult.
“Of course, we discussed with him, as well as with Ian, an option, but the negotiating position is not such that we can implement it, so we will settle for it for the time being. “
