Borussia Dortmund star Donyell Malen made a comment on social media calling for the sacking of Edin Terzic.
The German side have lost their last two games in a row and, after just 11 games, are already 10 points behind Bundesliga speed. Dortmund haven’t won league glory for over a decade and sadly missed the final day last season.
However, it turns out there was a slight hangover and Terzic’s position is in doubt despite his impressive efforts last year. Malen has been Dortmund’s most used striker so far, scoring 4 goals in all competitions, but he has hinted at his emotions on social media.
He likes a post that reads, “Kick Terzic in the butt to get fired. “The 41-year-old was Dortmund’s former interim coach before taking over the full-time role in May 2022. They have a 60 percent signing rate, but they have already failed to win five of their league games this season.
One of their recent defeats came at the hands of Bayern, who continued their dominance over Dortmund with a 4-0 victory at their rivals’ home with a hat-trick from Harry Kane. German wonder Lothar Matthäus criticized Terzic’s team after the defeat and claimed they were “unstable”.
He wrote in his Sky Sports column: “Why did they play so cautiously against Bayern?When they made ambitious offensives, they looked decent. You can’t just play defensively against Bayern or in Stuttgart. That’s not the DNA of this team.
“There were five or six attacking players on the pitch who were opposed to Bayern, but Edin Terzic was compact at the back and made a quick transition after winning the ball. Dortmund had befriended this tactic to a certain extent, at least the effects were positive until the opposite game to Bayern. But they don’t play the kind of exciting football they used to.
“The ability and quality are there. They have speed, experience, strength in tackles, the team can play in a different way, but they are unstable.
Dortmund have not been able to get continuity in the dugout for several years. Terzic is now in his second season, but before that Marco Rose, Peter Stoger and Peter Bosz didn’t last a year.
