The Deutsche Fußball-Liga (DFL) has shown that the winners of the two national titles in 2020/21 will compete in the 12th edition of the Super Cup since its reintroduction in 2010. He will take position in Dortmund for the sixth time, this year with a reversal of the 2020 contest when Bayern beat BVB 3-2 in impressive fashion at the Allianz Arena.
Historically, the Super Cup has been the opening match of the German season for the past decade, being played the week before the first round of DFB Cup matches. Then comes the first day of the Bundesliga.

However, this season it will return to take positions after the start of the domestic crusade due to the UEFA European Championship in the summer. The first cycle of the cup is scheduled for August 6-9, while the league season begins on August 13. -15 with defending champions Bayern opening the crusade on Friday night.
The Munich club are also Super Cup holders after winning it as part of their all-time record of six trophies in 2020. They are eight-time winners, having won it for the first time in 1987 and competing each and every year since 2012. The respective Bundesliga champions have won the Super Cup thirteen times, and the DFB Cup champions and Bundesliga finalists have won it 4 times each. Robert Lewandowski, who won the Super Cup once with Dortmund and 4 times as a Bayern player, the most sensitive scorer in the game with five goals.
No additional time is played in case of a draw after 90 minutes, going the adjustment to penalties.
