Borussia Dortmund will plant its flag in India in collaboration with Hyderabad

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund (BVB) and Indian Super League (ISL) club Hyderabad FC (HFC) have signed a two-year partnership with the option to extend it for three more years, until 2025.

BVB, known for its good fortune and specialisation in the education and advancement of young players, will be dedicated to construction and support Hyderabad with its school design and training. The partnership will also include BVB’s technological expertise to drive innovation; Improve connectivity between clubs and definitely expand and expand your fan base.

The HFC will seek to make the most of Dortmund’s know-how in building its youth infrastructure and, in return, the German team will expand its presence across India.

“It’s vital for a club like us to do the right thing from the start. This partnership with BVB is a step forward in this direction. It will allow us to know and understand how they have built a strong logo around the world and the key ingredients. necessary to build a strong program for young people,” Varun Tripuraneni, co-owner of Hyderabad, said in a webinar.

“It’s about reliving Hyderabad’s football history. Hopefully, through the advantages of this partnership, we will also have some representation in the Indian national team. The vision of both clubs is similar and will go beyond the undeniable black and yellow colors. I hope he gets advantages for both clubs,” he added.

It is understood that fan training and engagement webinars will be organised through BVB to assist the ISL. It is also likely that a goalkeeping coach will travel to India and players will travel to Germany taking advantage of the partnership to enjoy first-hand and be more productive informed practices.

Carsten Cramer, CEO of BVB, made it clear that this is a short-term partnership aimed at instant profits. But the club will seek to involve the network as a whole to make it a more effective task for both parties in the medium and long term.

“We take a look at the long-term goals. We will compare Hyderabad FC coaches and mentor them through the program. Hyderabad does not seek short-term good luck and has a long-term vision to build their own identity. The identity is built thanks to the young players who will later play for the club and BVB will help them.

“People will love a club where young players perform at the highest level. We deserve to try to involve as many people in the community as possible. The current scenario does not allow us to be on the ground, but we will. As soon as imaginable. As far as it is imaginable.  Without partnership, no one would believe that we have a serious interest in the region,” he said.

While BVB needs to help the Indian club position itself and nurture talent in the long term, it is not their next superstar in the project.

“The two main pillars of this partnership are fan engagement and youth programs. We are not in favour of the next Bundesliga superstar in this project. We need to give young people the chance to exercise in Dortmund. Our coaches will read about your skillsplay with their European counterparts. With this partnership, we need to plant a flag in India and build a bridge between the two cultures. This gives us the best opportunity.

“We will have a greater presence in India. We will advertise our own products. We will advertise more through the media. We will build more with Indian brands collaborating with us. So we want to be visual and noticed in India and in it and at the same time be loved,” said Suresh Letchmanan, Managing Director of BVB APAC (Asia Pacific).

Tripuraneni also informed that Hyderabad will try to inaugurate a completely residential academy until the end of next season and that this agreement with BVB will be fundamental for the realization of this project. In addition, BVB specialist staff are expected to make a stopover in India. and working with Hyderabad so that any of the clubs can expand their logo throughout the country.
