Reece James, Christopher Nkunku and Malo Gusto all returned to action in last week’s matches, giving Chelsea enthusiasts plenty of positives on the injury front.
Saturday’s match against Nottingham Forest even saw Lesley Ugochukwu on the bench after a time-out.
Actually, things are improving on that front, there are still big mysteries about the prestige of Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka. With only a week to go until the end of the season and no recent updates on their prestige from the coach, we can say with some confidence that they have played their best game this campaign.

Chukwuemeka and Chilwell have been the main ones affected by Chelsea’s mysterious and persistent injury this season. Everyone missed a vital component of the crusade after encountering a pretty serious challenge. But the real challenge has emerged since his return.
Chilwell was absent from late September to January and had just re-entered the team with a series of 90-minute duties in March before suddenly disappearing from the picture after being prematurely called up to foreign service. We were constantly waiting for him to come back. Soon, still without knowing anything concrete, his return date has been gradually moving away to the point that we don’t think it’s very likely that we’ll see him in either of the remaining two games.
Chukwuemeka is pretty much the same story: a fall injury that kept him out until the new year, then a few minutes here and there before disappearing in April.
In any case, we don’t know anything about its prestige and its current problem. All we can say now is that it’s unlikely we’ll see them again this season.
