West Brom has completed the signing of former Chelseadefensa Branislav Ivanovic.
The 36-year-old has signed a one-year contract after being an indefinite agent after leaving Zenit St Petersburg.
Ivanovic joined after the Baggies marked their return to the Premier League with a 3-0 loss to Leicester on Sunday.
“The Premier League is the league of the world,” he told the club’s official website.
“I have to challenge myself and I’m in a position for the challenge. I am pleased to play again in the Premier League.
“I hope to succeed here. I have a lot of ambition and I need to do a lot of things. I’ll give it my all for the team. “
Ivanovic has won 3 Premier League titles, 3 FA Cups, the Champions League, the Europa League – he scored the winning goal in the final against Benfica in 2013 – and the League Cup for nine years at Chelsea.
He is also Serbia’s top player with 105 appearances.
Baggies boss Slaven Bilic added: “This is a wonderful addition to us, a team that has been promoted to the Premier League. He meets all the requirements for us.
“He’s done everything in his career, it’s wonderful. We’re grateful. Add quality and enjoy on and off the court.
