The pre-season friendly Liverpool of the summer saw Jurgen Klopp’s team go back two goals to win a 2–2 draw at Red Bull Salzburg.
An early fabinho mistake gave Salzburg the first game, before an intercepted pass from Joe Gomez left a hole that the house team took advantage of: Patson Daka scored goals in 15 minutes.
The Reds continued to offer opportunities opposed to Salzburg’s lightning counterattack, but also missed their own first-half chances with Sadio Mané failing from two yards, Roberto Firmino firing deflected and Mohamed Salah miscontrolled inside the area.
The same over-adjustments always occurred between half-time and 60 minutes, however, it wasn’t until the final 15 that the Reds took over the game in terms of scoring.
James Milner did well to prepare Rhian Brewster for a smart finish on the roof of the net, before Curtis Jones closed the goalkeeper and Brewster threw the ball loose from 30 yards.
Harvey Elliott had a wonderful chance of winning the game with almost the last kick, but the Reds tied up and are now returning to the UK for the Community Shield.
Only a few, not necessarily the Reds, however, is a big step forward to have game enthusiasts.
Everyone will have their own preferences, but those who did not need the “additional experience” of the false noise of the crowd will have become accustomed to watching the matches almost silently, with the voices of the players and coaches being the only interruptions of the ball..crazy about the country.
In the end, Tuesday was a welcome change, with Salzburg allowing a few thousand enthusiasts to enter the stadium.
It will be a few more months before the same thing starts at Anfield, but the more people see their team play, the better for everyone.
Under conditions, of course!
Both Salzburg goals came here because of Liverpool’s ownership errors, and another 3 or four opportunities came from the stage.
It wasn’t limited to defensive players, which means we can be pretty sure that the Reds players were tired after the intense pre-season sessions, losing the first touches and needing that speed that comes with the minutes on the field.
This might be a fear a few weeks later due to the lack of preparation matches this year, but it’s also the reason why seniors are already starting all the games when we see a combination of young players.
Mo Salah, Alisson Becker, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Ki-Jana Hoever and others produced remarkable moments of poor appreciation at either end of the field, which may have led to a much higher overall score.
As Klopp explained, the players had an intense consultation in the morning and now return to Merseyside for more of the same.
There is no doubt that Klopp is betting on the most powerful squad imaginable right now from the beginning, with the purpose of continuity at the beginning of the “real” season.
As a result, it seems that Naby Keita will start on 20/21 in the same way that ended on 19/20, that is, in the beginning 11.
The No.8 to the right of the 3 in the middle and not as effective as it can be, still showed smart passes, some smart moments of haggling and strength in the middle and the same old eye to exploit space.
Almost every Liverpool fan is willing to watch Naby have a genuine career to his credit now, having proved that he can be a fickle and winning talent.
Add it to the 11 normal Klopp can and it’s a more penetrating and unpredictable aspect right away.
Now that we’re approaching the beginning of the real action, some players have been given a full hour of gameplay.
Virgil van Dijk left just before after a cut in the face, however, the slow increase in load would occur in approximately 3 or 4 friendly ones; after just the game at the moment, Salah, Mane, Gomez and Andy Robertson are already in place.Point.
If there is no game at short notice on national soil, Community Shield will see five Reds devote up to 90 minutes of action already, with six submarines allowed in this match.
Even if the goalkeeper and the centrals are the main expected, at this point, two of the team’s players will be asked to take the extra minutes before.
Let’s hope this doesn’t cause any more injuries, bumps or stresses, because they haven’t accumulated much at slower doses beforehand.
Pre-season is not the time to exaggerate with players, we have learned it through years of sadness and futility, but it may be a time when young or marginal players show that they deserve greater participation.
That’s exactly what Rhian Brewster does, scoring three times in two sub-releases so far, with a final truth.
What everyone has in common, however, is Brewster’s ability to locate the area and anticipate the arrival of the ball in key regions: there is no defender within two or three yards of it for any of his three moves and he did not want it.to throw themselves on the ball for them neither.
It’s there, waiting to jump and with the technique and confidence to finish, the first time or after a tap and a lap.
Billy Koumetio had a few moments behind in defense, as did Nat Phillips, while Takumi Minamino continued to excel when he was given the chance to get the ball on his feet in deep areas, that’s where we’ll get the most out of it, without relentlessly broadcasting the channels.
Many paintings for Klopp and his coaches in the coming days before Wembley, but many explanations of why smile as well.
