Browns finish with second-best special groups in AFC North despite struggles

The Cleveland Browns did not have a smart task force unit overall, yet they were smartly opposed to most of the AFC North. Cleveland finished in 18th place according to Rick Gosselin, who was smart enough for the second position in the department only third. Baltimore Ravens position.

Cleveland placed on special groups for the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers ranked 21st, while Cincinnati ranked 26th.

According to the data, Cleveland had the worst punting team in the league, allowing 12. 3 yards. The league average was just under 8. 9 yards.

It wasn’t too bad for Cleveland despite the 18th-ranked unit. Cade York struggled but showed its big lead in Week 1 with a game-winning goal from 58 yards. Corey Bojorquez has shown one of the biggest legs in the game at times this year, even if consistent punts have hurt him.

Donovan Peoples-Jones looked like a valid punt defender, adding a return for a landing in Deshaun Watson’s return against the Houston Texans.

Cleveland appears to be bringing back special teams coordinator Mike Priefer for another season. Therefore, it will be up to him to capitalize on poor unit functionality, and so on by 2023.
