Busy day for loans in Aberdeen with news about Findlay Marshall, Alfie Bavidge, Aaron Reid, Adam Emslie and Dylan Lobban

Aberdeen midfielder Findlay Marshall has joined League One side Edinburgh City on loan, with news of a further 4 on loan also came on a busy Friday.

The 17-year-old youth academy graduate has been a mainstay of the progression team this season and has a glittering career ahead of him at Pittodrie.

The central midfielder, who is also a Scotland Under-17 international, signed a contract extension with the club in the summer of 2023, committing to a long stay with the Dons until at least 2026.

Marshall’s loan comes as the Dons have shown that striker Alfie Bavidge will remain on loan at Kelty Hearts until the end of the season.

The clubs have agreed an extension of the 17-year-old striker’s initial six months at Fife.

The promising Bavidge scored two goals for sixth-placed Kelty in 10 starts in League One.

In the most recent announcements of a hectic day of loan activity at the club, the Dons have extended 18-year-old attacking midfielder Adam Emslie’s loan spell with Formartine United of the Breedon Highland League for the remainder of the campaign.

Emslie will be joined at North Lodge Park by 19-year-old Aaron Reid.

The great striker was withdrawn from his loan at Peterhead earlier this week and will spend the second part of the season with Stuart Anderson’s side.

Dylan Lobban will stay at Formartine, and the 18-year-old midfielder will move to Ligue 2 on loan at Forfar Athletic for the remainder of the campaign.

The Dons said: “Dylan Lobban has been called up from his time at Formartine United and the midfielder has joined Forfar Athletic on loan until the end of the season.
