Dominic Calvert-Lewin says he is reaping the fruits of Carlo Ancelotti’s floor recommendation after scoring his first professional hat-trick in Everton’s 5–2 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Everton produced a colorful offensive performance at Goodison Park to keep his start 2020/21 to 100%, with James Rodriguez scoring a brilliant home debut with good purpose and Michael Keane scoring for the time being in a back-to-back game.
Calvert-Lewin followed his winning headbutt in Everton’s first Premier League game in the Spurs with a trio of West Brom predatory finals.
The strength, grip and energetic movement of the 23-year-old also inspired when he made a full demonstration of the centre forward.
Calvert-Lewin explained how Ancelotti’s sensible recommendation played a decisive role in his metheoric campaign start.
“The coach is with me every single-touch day and being in the area, being in the right spaces to put the ball at the bottom of the net,” he said.
“Fortunately, I was today. It’s smart to know that what I’m running in education becomes a reality in the box and that’s the biggest reward.
“Obviously, it’s been a wonderful day for me: my first hat-trick in professional football and in the end a smart team performance.
“But it’s vital not to get carried away.
“For me, personally, in each and every game, I aim for a goal.
“I just have to keep doing business here, scoring goals, playing well and maintaining my highest standards. “
Calvert-Lewin opened his account for the afternoon with a brilliantly improvised rear wheel.
He then touched the back post following james and Richarlison’s paintings, before completing his hat-trick by turning an attractive corner of the Colombian at home.
James was an influential presence and showed his skill with a devastating effect with a breakthrough of precision from the edge of the domain to put Everton 2-1 ahead.
“James has settled on the team and in the Premier League,” Calvert-Lewin added.
“He achieved his purpose and I am very happy for him.
“As a centre forward, it’s wonderful to play with him.
“It creates opportunities for me, of which I am very satisfied.
“He played at the point and you can see the quality he already has. “
The first three games of Everton’s crusade saw the Blues score goals and rain in 64 shots at the door.
The next leg for the Blues is a Carabao Cup clash at Fleetwood Town on Wednesday night before Ancelotti’s men return to the Premier League against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park next Saturday.
Calvert-Lewin says Everton will build its manifestation opposite West Brom.
He added: “I think we’re a little slow, but then we’re back in the game.
“We created space, penetrated what we needed and created opportunities. I’m satisfied to be in the box to touch them.
“You can see what we have on the ball now.
“We take it from match to party and try to keep doing it right and get results. “
