The New England Patriots are back in practice this week, picking up reinforcements from the COVID-19 reserve lists and injured.
So, as of this week, there are no more excuses for a 2-3 Patriots team that has so far performed lower and Quarterback Cam Newton, who admitted he didn’t play well, understands that after losing to the Denver Broncos at home last week.
“We have a greater approach to preparation with this week,” Newton said Thursday at his weekly meeting with reporters. “I can’t find any excuse, I’m just saying we put ourselves in a better position to win. I’m just going to say it that way. I’m not saying we didn’t have the ability to win last week, because we did. We had our chances.
“For us, as an offensive, we know that our basket of excuses is low. We’re picking the boys we’ve been missing for weeks. Even though we’re missing a few other guys, we’ve got enough to compete. “And I mean, anyone. For us, it’s not necessarily the team we’re up against. It’s just a matter of accepting the challenge of saying, “We haven’t played a match without ball loss yet. “Let’s see what that looks like. That’s more or less saying, like, “let’s go back to the weekly regime from every point of concentration, from the first races, the third races, the red zone, the education problems and this, this and the third. And have the ability to faint and practice. That’s why, for us, it’s not necessarily the team we play; more or less than our preparation to enter the game and execute it when we get the chance.
David Andrews Center and Right Guard Shaq Mason returned to education this week in the attack. The unit still lacks the right over Jermaine Eluemunor, runner Sony Michel and understudy intermediate James Ferentz.
But Newton’s right. The Patriots offensive has almost returned to full force as they prepare for their Week 7 game with the San Francisco 49ers. They are who they are unless they load coins before the November 3 industry deadline.
