Questions about Cam Newton’s adjustment with the New England Patriots were not absolutely out of the question, as Quarterback All-Pro shared some of the same considerations before signing in early July.
But life has been smart, even wonderful, for former Carolina Panthers quarterback two months after his tenure with the Patriots.Newton named the Patriots’ starting quarterback through head coach Bill Belichick and named offensive captain through his teammates last week.
“The same questions that many people, and communication programs, gossip, hairdresser and talk text, were looking to know, I also sought to know,” Newton said Monday morning at WEEI.”The Greg Hill Show.”” Is it true what they say about Belichick?It’s going to be too much… I didn’t know that. I think, honestly, it’s a perfect fit for me, knowing that I’m in a position where everything goes in the same direction and where everything points to winning.
“Coming from who has won at all levels, I feel like I am doing things the right way, trusting many of the same people who took me to this point, and relying on coaching, I think it is anything that when you look at an opportunity at the right time, can be achieved.»
Newton ignored the momentum in addressing considerations about his future in New England.
“Let’s pass honestly? It’s because I’m a black athlete, a quarterback who for a long time I have no excuse; behaved in a way that the media didn’t give me the right thing,” Newton said.At the same time, I perceive it and have no resentment about it.I hug who I am, I hug the moment. “Throughout all this, I could see an opportunity.I went through a list of things I expected from Bill Belichick, just like Bill Belichick needs a list of things he needs from Cam Newton.I think the story that comes here was a little stereotypical for an unfair eye; “We’ve heard that about Cam.We heard that. She’s a prima donna. It’s this and that.”But when you put a microscope on who I am, there’s a lot of favoritism that hasn’t been smart for me.
“But in spite of everything, I won’t do that with me.I need to communicate about this team and how to earn acceptance as true with those guys.I think this is the most vital thing, the biggest challenge I have.”What I have to do is let those guys understand, ”Look, I know it’s been said a lot, I can feel the eyes and attention that are on me as soon as I enter the status quo.The day you learned it’s a lot of BSArray stuff and I’m here to clear all the doubts.
Newton’s belief in Belichick replaced after his first conversation, and Newton noticed that Belichick made paintings with many other personalities in his training career, from Tom Brady to Randy Moss, Corey Dillon, Lawrence Taylor and Tedy Bruschi.
“It’s no wonder why he’s enjoyed sustained good fortune over the years,” Newton said.”When I call those players, they’re just a small collection of other types of types, cultures, characters and everything.If he’s able to do that” things with those players, it made a lot of sense from the moment I talked to him, and when I met with him face to face, he got rid of any kind of doubt, if I have one.like that.”
The Patriots and Newton formed a strong partnership this summer, but it’s about maintaining it in the 2020 NFL season.His first control will be in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins on September 13 at Gillette Stadium.
