FOXBORO, Mass.- Cam Newton didn’t see the first major lineup of the New England Patriots coming.
The Patriots quarterback said he surprised this week by seeing the team free veteran catcher Mohamed Sanu, with whom he had forged ties since signing with New England in July.
“Mo, he was the first user to make himself when I signed here,” Newton said after Friday practice.And (seeing that it had been cut) was difficult for me, because I don’t read about football stuff when I’m home (or) at home, because it’s anything we do all day and obviously, with this show, it’s anyway 24 hours a day, so when my cousin told me (Sanu was released), I realized.I think he was playing.
Newton said he contacted Sanu, who failed to impress at the education camp after undergoing ankle surgery during the off-season.
The 31-year-old gave the impression in just nine games for New England after the team redeemed him for a second-round selection last October.

The Patriots got rid of three players from their list this week: Sanu, cornerer Michael Jackson (resigned) and Michael Barnett’s defensive take (renounced/injured). They will have to eliminate 24 to 16 heures.ET more on Saturday to succeed.53 players.
