Cam Newton’s arrival in New England brought some changes to the Patriots.
For starters, the Patriots offensive will be very different with Newton downtown. As we saw Sunday in New England’s 21-11 win over the Miami Dolphins, the Patriots might not hesitate to use the double-threat talent of Newton, who loaded the ball 15 out of 75 times. yards with two touchdowns in the first week.
In addition to the field settings, Newton made his presence felt in the New England locker room. The star marker on Monday shared the nicknames he coined for 15 of his Patriots teammates.
Newton himself explained some of those nicknames, such as “Highway 11” through Julian Edelman and “Doughboy” through N’Keal Harry, while others like “Stiddy” (Jarrett Stidham) and “The Hoyster” (Brian Hoyer) are pretty simple associate We think those are also assumptions.
Dirty Dave: David Andrews, Smokin’Joe: Joe Thuney, Winnie the Pooh: Isaiah Wynn, Burky: Rex Burkhead, Twin No. 1, Twin No. 2: Devin and Jason McCourty, Bent Dog: JaWhaun Bentley
Newton noted that “Bo Diddly” and “Crazy Legs” are lately on the disabled reserve list, so the nicknames may belong to open receiver Gunner Olszewski and offensive part Damien Harris. As for “Buzzo,” the Ryan Izzo closed wing would be our estimate.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Newton introduced new nicknames to the Patriots’ other teammates in the 2020 season.
