There have been some disorders in Tottenham during the previous year, one of the vital highs has been the lack of creativity in the countryside.
For many years, Christian Eriksen was the main artistic outing of the Lilywhites.
The Dane, of course, has excelled in this domain and played a key role with Mauricio Pochettino, who has made North Londoners a Premier League club in the top four, while guiding Spurs to the final of the 2019 Champions League.
However, Eriksen has moved on and the Spurs have not yet offered a replacement.
All Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Gedson Fernandes and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have reached the Midfield of Tottenham in the last year.
However, none of this quartet excels in an offensive midfield role or as a key source of creativity.
The Celso and Ndombele are seen through José Mourinho as the players who intend to create opportunities from their midfield.
But the latter is still unable to see the 90 minutes of football, while Lo Celso has put his most productive performances in a Spurs jersey of deeper prominence.
This, of course, leaves the Lilywhites in a genuine No. 10.
Dele Alli is, of course, an offensive midfielder. But the 24-year-old hasn’t been with him for some time and it turns out he’s gotten out of his way with Mourinho, with a season at PSG even recently promoted.

In the absence of a true No. 10 player in their ranks, Mourinho’s Tottenham struggled to create opportunities and, on record, simply did not appear to have put a coherent plan of attack in position.
It stimulates a little the joy of creating opportunities when groups are hit in the counterattack.
But for the most part, his bonding game and his ability to temporarily move the ball across the field to break through a deep opposition, is below par.
However, this is Harry Kane where he can get in.
Against Southampton this weekend, Kane made an exhibition that any world-class game creator would be proud of.
The English 4 assists for Heung-min are opposite to the Saints.
4 – Harry Kane helped Son Heung-Min’s four goals against Southampton today: the first time in @premierleague history, a player has helped four times in a single game.

These passes, however, were not just undeniable passes through the area to make tap-ins, they were genuine quality balls from all over the field.
Kane’s first, after a painting forged through Ndombele to beat the press, saw the hitman throw a big ball at Son from the left wing.
English moment a more central ball, which opened Southampton’s defence.
Kane’s third handed and then came here from the midline, before the striker produced a quarter near Kevin De Bruyne from the right of the field to crown an afternoon of stellar artistic work.
Obviously, that doesn’t mean Kane is from the KDB point when it comes to creating opportunities.
But his assists highlighted Kane’s wide range of passing skills. It should also be noted that lately he has the maximum non-unusual hit-creating moves of all Tottenham players in the league this quarter (7).
Yours, meanwhile, has the same count. However, six of Kane’s shooting moves came from live ball passes, just four from south Korean.
And while it’s just a small pattern to work from, it suggests that Kane may turn out to be the Spurs’ ultimate artistic asset this season.
This is, of course, anything Mourinho checks to take advantage of, possibly asking English to play from a deeper position from time to time.
Seeing Kane in the kind of 9/10 hybrid role we saw during the time part of Southampton’s game is not something Tottenham enthusiasts have been treated for during the 27-year-old’s season in North London.
However, Kane has played a similar role for Gareth Southgate’s England team in the past, and he doesn’t deserve to have any challenge in doing it more for the Spurs.
In the 6-0 goal from England to Bulgaria last year, for example, the hitman was covered in a deeper position, which saw him provide 3 passes and prior assistance:
So why can’t we see Kane now take on that role on a more coherent basis for Tottenham?
With Dele Alli on the sidelines, Mourinho seems to lean towards a three-man midfield, which would consist of players such as Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sissoko and Winks, all of whom paint more productively in deeper roles.
Such a midfield would allow Kane to fall into a kind of false nine, as he did against Southampton.
This, in theory, attracts deep defenses from the opposition, as central defenders will be eager to shut down the ever-dangerous Kane.
In turn, with his very good range of passes, the Englishman was able to pass through Son and Gareth Bale, or more than able to bet a little narrower and run towards the defenses.
Clearly, other defenses are unlikely to be as open as Southampton’s last weekend, but Son and Bale’s sheer quality, combined with Kane’s ability to add intensity to the game, make Lilywhites a much more damaging strike force in the future.
