Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has admitted he feels sorry for opposing defenders who have to deal with his club’s attack.
The Reds have been fatal in front of goal this season, scoring 15 goals in all competitions, a 3-1 win over LASK on Thursday.
Defensively, Jurgen Klopp has some problems, but in the long run there are not many better teams.
Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah scored in Austria as the Merseyaspect team returned in the second half.
But Liverpool have other attacking options, adding Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ben Doak, a promising skill that opposed LASK.
And Kelleher joked that he was satisfied with having to face only Liverpool’s terrifying front line in training.
“I think in the last few games I scored a lot of goals,” Kelleher said on the club’s website.
“That front line is sometimes and also has a lot of depth.
“Whoever starts, there are players who come off the bench and who can cause problems. I am satisfied to face them in training!”
Even if Liverpool are scary in the future, there are still problems to be solved at the back.
The Reds conceded the first in 4 games this campaign, in all competitions, and relied on their attack to get out of trouble.
Against LASK, Kelleher beat through an absolutely stunning Florian Flecker: a half-volley that penetrated the net.
Commenting on their performance, the Republic of Ireland said: “This is my first competitive match since Southampton [last match of the 2022/23 season].
“As with gardeners, there’s a little rust. It was fantastic to faint there and hopefully I can play some more matches in this competition.
“We didn’t play very well in the first half, but he [Klopp] said we were doing smart things in the first half and we just held on.
“The key messages were simply that we were betting on football intelligently, maybe just because of some indecision and a bit of forgetfulness in the first half.
“So we replaced him and luckily we scored 3 goals. “
