Interim manager Peter Leven praised Aberdeen’s character for taking a step towards ending the threat of relegation.
The Dons beat second-place Ross County 2-1 in Pittodrie to ease relegation concerns.
Aberdeen are now six points adrift of the Staggies, who sit in the relegation play-off spot.
First-team coach Leven has now led the Dons to back-to-back victories in the face of the threat of fighting the slump.
Aberdeen’s hierarchy are still looking for a new permanent manager, two months after Barry Robson’s sacking.
Leven insists he has had no indication of a timetable for the appointment of a new manager and is taking it “day in and day out and game in and game out of game”.
Leven said: “The character was brilliant at the time and everyone was fighting.
“You might see that all over the world.
“Hopefully this little hole will relieve the pressure.
“All three issues are huge.
“But every game is huge for this club, that’s what the fans demand.
“We knew it was going to be a great game and we’re happy to have got the win, even if our functionality was greater at times.
“The first half went well and then Ross County made a little bit of progress.
“Our distances weren’t smart and there were a couple of offside passes.
“However, I knew we had the players on the pitch to score the next goal. “
Aberdeen came into this match having won any of their last six Premiership games at Pittodrie.
Under Leven, the Dons ended that barren home win drought.
The Dons announced on March 11 that they expected a new manager to be named for the offseason, but the procedure is still ongoing.
Elfsborg coach Jimmy Thelin dropped out of the race a week ago to stay in Sweden, while Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill insists he is focused on the national team.
Dons chief executive Alan Burrows said recently that the club’s search for a new manager “is entering its final stages. “
Leven said: “I take it day in and day out and game in and game out of game, unless you tell me otherwise.
“Unless he tells me something over the weekend, I’ll be there on Monday. “
When asked if he had received any guidance from Pittodrie’s board of directors on the timeline for a new manager, Leven replied, “No. I work every day. “
There was a replacement in Aberdeen’s starting line-up that beat Motherwell 1–0 with centre-back Richard Jensen replacing Angus MacDonald.
Aberdeen Ross County in the 5th minute with the first goal
A very good defensive pass from Junior Hoilett discovered Bojan Miovski’s run.
The Dons forward beat Ryan Leak and fired a shot from six yards that deflected slightly past Jack.
Loïck Ayina then tried to clear the line but cut through the roof of the net.
It’s a one-goal gift for Aberdeen.
In the 15th minute, Kelle Roos stopped a low shot from Josh Sims with an impressive and important save.
Ross County punished a lack of defense to equalize in the minute when Sims played a penalty corner to Yan Dhanda on the right.
Dhanda whipped in a cross that found out Simon Murray, who had time and scored an eight-yard header.
Aberdeen goalkeeper Roos came to the rescue in the 62nd minute when he deflected a powerful shot from Dhanda over the crossbar.
Ross County goalkeeper Wickens was booked in the 73rd minute for awkwardly colliding with Duk as he ran out of his box.
Aberdeen for red, but referee Kevin Clancy showed a yellow card.
From the resulting free kick, Leighton Clarkson shot from 22 yards and inches wide near the post.
Aberdeen regained the lead in the 78th minute when Jack MacKenzie replaced Duk in the box.
Duk passed to Ayina before sliding a cross-field pass to Jamie McGrath, who clinically fired from 8 yards out to send the Red Army into a frenzy.
The woodwork denied Aberdeen a third goal in the minute when Dante Polvara’s shot hit the crossbar.
